After reading the heart breaking story, I immediately flashed back to when my dog was put down. I never asked her if she was ready to go, but based on the way she acted, I assume no. I didn't really have a choice in this matter. She was put down Feb 10, 2007. At this time I was still at Wake. That Friday I had received a phone call from my mom saying it was time for her to go. I basically flipped out because it was just too soon. Luckily I had a free ticket and was able to fly back early Saturday morning. I was able to spend 2 hours with Cookie before the vet came to our house. No one asked if she was ready to go. When I first came home and she saw me, she reverted back to her puppy ways. Too adorable.
Cookie and I had a good almost 12 years together. We grew up together and engaged in many mischievous activities. She was my only friend at times when I felt so alone. Interesting fact: She was born in the year of the dog and also died in the year of the dog. Speaking of Chinese New Years...
I'm a little late again, but Happy Chinese New Years!

Year of the Ox
That's me!
